Police on Alert as Intelligence Flags Possible BRS Protests Across Telangana

Anticipating law and order issues following the SIT summons to ex-CM K. Chandrashekar Rao, police have asked field officers to take precautionary measures and closely monitor BRS mobilisation, especially in view of the forthcoming municipal elections.

Hyderabad: Telangana police are on high alert after the SIT summoned former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to his Nandinagar residence for questioning in the alleged illegal phone tapping case during the BRS regime.

Intelligence reports indicate that BRS leaders and activists may organise large gatherings and protests at Nandinagar, and possibly in other areas statewide. The planned activities include rallies, dharnas, road blockades, and burning of effigies, which could potentially lead to disruptions in public order.

All field officers have been instructed to monitor the situation closely and take precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents, particularly in view of the upcoming municipal elections.
