Police Hold Cricket Tournament To Steer Youth Away From Drugs
“Once someone falls into addiction, it can completely ruin their life”: Police

NIZAMABAD: Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya said the police will conduct sports tournaments to encourage youth to stay away from drugs and bad habits. He noted that today’s youth are increasingly being drawn toward drug abuse, which is a dangerous path.
As part of the Community Contact Programme, the Mogpal police organised a cricket tournament on Friday at a private school ground in the Mogpal police station limits. Speaking as chief guest at the valedictory programme, the top cop said the tournament is not just a game but also an excellent way to strengthen oneself morally, physically, and mentally.
“Once someone falls into addiction, it can completely ruin their life,” he said, emphasising that youth are the future of the nation. He urged them to stay healthy, set good goals, and move forward with determination. He added that sports events guide youth in a positive direction, keeping them away from addictions while teaching coexistence, discipline, and humanity.
The CP also stressed the importance of recognising responsibilities, choosing good friends, and developing good habits. Prizes were distributed to the players by Sai Chaitanya.
The programme was attended by Nizamabad ACP L. Raja Venkat Reddy, South Rural Circle Inspector N. Suresh Kumar, Mogpal SI Z. Sushmitha, youth from 13 cricket teams, police staff, and villagers.
