Hyderabad:The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), in coordination with police, will identify poorly lit streets and address gaps. Officials will also access police CCTV cameras to monitor sanitation, debris dumping and garbage vulnerable points, with penalties to be levied where necessary.

Currently, 21,000 CCTV cameras are under police control in Cyberabad jurisdiction. The CMC has offered to provide additional cameras if required. Within its limits, 20 locations in Serilingampally, nine in Kukatpally and nine in Quthbullapur have been identified as recurring waterlogging points, where works will be taken up.

A convergence meeting at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate reviewed traffic management and road safety. Issues of street lighting, sanitation and waterlogging were discussed, with Commissioner G. Srijana instructing officials to address civic lapses.

On road maintenance and encroachments, joint action by CMC and police was decided for road widening, footpath improvement and removal of encroachments. As part of enforcement, the CMC will obtain a list of critical locations from police and take up works in a phased manner.
