POCSO Court Sentences 3 to Life Imprisonment in 2022 Case in Khammam
After examining the evidence, witness statements, and medical reports, the court found that the charges against the accused had been proved

Hyderabad: Khammam First Fast Track (POCSO) court judge Dr. Pullabhatla Pogada Krishna Arjun has sentenced three persons to life imprisonment in connection with a POCSO case registered against them in 2022 in Chintakani police station.
The court held the accused Palakurthi Srivardhan (19) and Simmasarthi Nagaraju (20), both residents of Chintakani mandal and Palakurthi Veeranna alias Abhi (20) of Tiruvuru mandal guilty and pronounced the judgement. It also imposed a fine of Rs.65,000 on Sridvardhan and Rs.60,000 each Nagaraju and Veeranna.
According to the prosecution, Srivardhan accused, who used to live in front of the victim’s house, lured her to his house with false promises on November 18, 2022, and threatened her. He along with his friends sexually assaulted her and threatened the girl that they would kill her if she disclose it to anyone.
Based on a complaint lodged by the victim's mother, a case was registered at Chintakani police station. A case was registered and investigated under IPC Sections 376, 324, 506 read with 34 and Section 5 read with 6 of the POCSO Act-2012. The police collected evidence, completed the investigation, and filed a charge sheet in court.
After examining the evidence, witness statements, and medical reports in the case, the court found that the charges against the accused had been proved. Accordingly, it sentenced all three accused to life imprisonment.
Khammam Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt commended the officers and personnel who worked effectively in the investigation, prosecution, and court liaison duties of the case.
