PM Should Respond to Chinese Claims over India-Pakistan Conflict, Demands Asaduddin Owaisi

Owaisi also slammed the BJP-led Madhya Pradesh government for the health crisis in Indore, where contaminated drinking water caused multiple deaths and left hundreds hospitalised.

Hyderabad: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi took exception to the Chinese claim taking credit for ‘stopping’ Operation Sindoor in May, described it as an insult to the nation and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strongly condemn it.

Addressing the media on Thursday, Owaisi has called on the Centre to officially rebut the claims made by the Chinese regarding Beijing's role in ‘mediating’ between India and Pakistan. He described the claims of Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi of mediation as a “surprising and unacceptable attempt by China to project superiority in South Asia.” He pointed out that while China claimed to be a mediator, it provides 81per cent of Pakistan's weapons and reportedly gave Pakistan real-time intelligence during the conflict last year.

Owaisi also slammed the BJP-led Madhya Pradesh government for the health crisis in Indore, where contaminated drinking water caused multiple deaths and left hundreds hospitalised. He mocked the ‘Vishwaguru’ aspirations of the Central and state governments, stating it was a failure of governance when people die from drinking dirty water in a city marketed as India's cleanest.

Owaisi remarked that those responsible for the negligence should be brought to book and wondered as to why the administration was more focused on ‘bulldozer’ actions while failing to provide basic amenities to citizens.
