Petrol Bunk Fraudsters Nabbed After 20 Thefts in Warangal

Police recovered the car used in the crimes and have sent all three to judicial remand

WARANGAL: Parakal police have arrested three men in connection with more than 20 petrol bunk fuel thefts across Warangal district over the past month, officials said on Sunday.

The accused — Ranjith of Geesukonda mandal, Naveen Reddy of Atmakur mandal and Bharat Chandra of Nalgonda mandal — allegedly used an unregistered luxury car to fill both the tank and rear-seat fuel cans at stations in Parakal, Nadikuda, Damera, Rayaparthy, Jafargadh and Regonda. They would simulate online payments and then flee before the transactions completed, stealing over ₹10,000 worth of fuel each time.

CCTV footage reviewed by investigators linked the trio to the raids, prompting their arrests. Police recovered the car used in the crimes and have sent all three to judicial remand.

“Thanks to prompt action and video evidence, we’ve cracked this ring and provided much-needed relief to bunk owners,” said a Parakal Police Station official.
