People throng temple from dawn for Shivaratri
A large number of devotees visited Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple, Vemulawada, one of the major Shiva temples in Telangana.

Hyderabad: Devotees thronged temples dedicated to Lord Shiva in the state on Wednesday to perform special pujas and Rudraabhishekham on the occasion of Shivaratri. People arrived in large numbers from early morning to have darshan of Lord Shiva, with long queues forming outside the temples.

Kaleshwaram also saw a significant influx of devotees not only from Telangana but also from neighbouring Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.
After taking holy dips at the Triveni Sangam of the Godavari, Pranahita, and Saraswati rivers, pilgrims offered special prayers at the historic Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy Temple.
This temple, renowned for its unique architecture and over a thousand years of history, houses two Shivalingas — one dedicated to Lord Shiva and the other to Yama, the god of death.
At the historic Thousand Pillars temple in Hanamkonda, a large number of worshippers had darshan of Sri Rudreshwara Swamy Temple, presenting Maredu leaves and performing abhishekam and special pujas from the early hours of the day.
Similarly, a heavy rush of devotees was seen at Srisailam, the only Jyotirlinga in Telugu states, located near the border of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Devotees from both Telugu states and Karnataka travelled here to take part in the rituals.
In Hyderabad, thousands of devotees visited the Sri Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple in Keesaragutta.
At the Army Cantonment in Bolaram, Sri Koteshwar Baba Mandir was specially decorated for the occasion, drawing devotees from the surrounding areas. Similarly, Skandagiri temple at Padmaraonagar drew a large number of devotees.
