Part of Uppal Skywalk to be Dismantled for Uppal-Narapally Elevated Corridor Construction

MMC is the executing agency for the flyover portion between Uppal Junction and Ramanthapur. The stretch from Uppal towards Warangal is temporarily closed to facilitate construction of the elevated corridor.

Hyderabad:To facilitate construction of the elevated corridor between Uppal and Narapally, about 70 metres of the Uppal Skywalk will be dismantled. It will be restored after, officials said. Excavation for flyover pillars is underway and two pillars fall in the alignment of the existing skywalk. The portion towards Uppal police station will be closed and dismantled.

“The new arm of the skywalk will have curve‑like structures on both sides where the pillars are located, while the remaining part will remain the same,” a Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) official said. Though the pedestrian facility was built by HMDA, works on the 70‑metre stretch where the flyover pillars are positioned will be taken up by the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC).
