Panel Being Finalised To Resolve 1/70 Act Land Issues: Poguleti

On Gen-z, the revenue minister said politics would change with the times. “In the 1980s, the BJP had a few MPs in the Lok Sabha. Now, the same party is ruling India and many states.”

NALGONDA: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Tuesday announced that a state-level committee would be set up to resolve the issues of land related to 1/70 Act.

Speaking to the media at Khammam, he said non-tribal were also holding ancestral properties—ie, lands - in the areas covering 1/70 in the state. "When a pilot project was taken up in Tirumalgiri (Sagar) mandal in Nalgonda district, a curious situation was found in the survey. Farmers, who were in the position of the land didn’t have pattadar passbooks and land titles, while those who had the titles were not in position of the lands."

“This situation prevailed for 2,800 acres. The issue related to the ancestral lands properties of lands owned by non-tribal in the areas of 1/70 Act. The state-level committee will finalise modalities in six months,” the minister said.

On assigned lands, he felt that this has become a serious problem. These lands changed hands in violation of rules wherein multi-storey buildings sprang up in a majority of them. This has become a sensitive issue.

To a question, Srinivas Reddy said Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy has mentioned “Hydraa”, a word liked by Hitler, in a different contest. “What the CM meant was that the state government would act strictly against encroachments of irrigation tanks and government lands through the Hydraa initiative. The Opposition leaders distorted this to mean dictatorship.”

On Gen-z, the revenue minister said politics would change with the times. “In the 1980s, the BJP had a few MPs in the Lok Sabha. Now, the same party is ruling India and many states.”

Khammam MP Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy was also present.
