Pahalgam Meet: Owaisi to Attend After Home Ministry Invite, Urges Hyderabad Protests

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi urges people to join protests in Hyderabad against the Pahalgam terror attack, following his invitation to the all-party meeting.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has called for massive public protests in Hyderabad to condemn the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed at least 26 people, including many tourists. He urged citizens to join demonstrations in large numbers, stating that a unified and vocal response is crucial to send a strong message against terrorism.

Earlier on Thursday, Owaisi had expressed disappointment over not being invited to the Centre’s all-party meeting on the incident. In a social media post, he criticized the NDA government for considering invitations only for parties with “five or 10 MPs,” and stressed that even smaller parties, elected by Indian citizens, deserve a voice in matters of national concern.

However, hours later, he confirmed receiving an invitation and said he would attend. “Just now I got a call from the Home Minister's office… I will attend the meeting,” he told reporters.

Owaisi emphasized that the issue transcends political lines and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure inclusivity in such crucial national discussions. Public protests, meanwhile, are planned in various parts of Hyderabad, with candlelight vigils and prayer meetings over the weekend.
