MLAs Clash During Meet at Karimnagar Collectorate

Karimnagar: A review meeting at the Collectorate turned chaotic on Sunday after a heated argument between Jagtial MLA Dr S. Sanjay Kumar and Huzurabad MLA Padi Koushik Reddy escalated into a physical altercation in the presence of senior ministers.

The clash began when Koushik Reddy interrupted Sanjay Kumar during his address, blocking his microphone and using derogatory language to question his party affiliation. The exchange quickly intensified into a physical scuffle, leaving officials and attendees, including ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, and Ponnam Prabhakar, stunned.

Efforts by other leaders to diffuse the situation failed as the two MLAs pushed and shoved each other in front of the gathered officials. Police at the venue intervened, escorting Koushik Reddy out of the hall.

Reacting to the incident, MLA Sanjay Kumar accused Koushik Reddy of obstructing him and resorting to personal attacks instead of discussing developmental issues.

In response, Koushik Reddy alleged that only 50 per cent of farmers in his constituency had received benefits under the Dalit Bandhu and loan waiver schemes, demanding equitable support for all farmers. He further accused Sanjay of corruption, claiming his position as MLA was a "gift" from former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, and challenged him to resign if he had the courage.
