Karimnagar: The people's government introduced power reforms to ensure uninterrupted supply for farmers, industries and households, said IT minister D. Sridhar Babu. As part of the reforms, the state government aims to generate 3,000 MW through women’s groups and agricultural societies.
The minister, along with DCCB chairman K. Ravinder Rao and district collector Koya Sriharsha, distributed sanction documents for a Rs.2.9-crore worth solar project under the PM-KUSUM Yojana at the PACS in Gunjapadugu village, Manthani mandal, Peddapalli district on Monday.
Speaking on this occasion, Sridhar Babu said solar projects have been sanctioned in four locations in Peddapalli district, thanks to the efforts of the collector. He thanked Karimnagar DCCB for sanctioning Rs.3 crore in loans to PACS centres in Manthani, Appannapet, Kalva Srirampur and Dharmaram.
Each PACS is expected to earn Rs.50 lakh annually from solar projects. Plans are underway to extend solar projects to all 131 PACS in the district, creating income sources for women’s groups and societies.
