Owaisi’s 26/11 Mastermind Remarks Draw Flak

N.V. Subhash labeled the comments as “reckless provocation masquerading as bravado”

Hyderabad: The BJP on Saturday condemned Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s alleged provocative remarks suggesting India should emulate the US by capturing the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack mastermind from Pakistan, similar to the Venezuelan President’s seizure from Caracas.

BJP chief spokesperson and media in-charge N.V. Subhash labeled the comments as “reckless provocation masquerading as bravado,” accusing Owaisi of displaying a mindset at odds with India's civilisational ethos and constitutional values. “This mindset may belong to dynasties of conquest and intrigue, where brothers and fathers were eliminated for power, but it certainly does not reflect the culture of Sanatanis, to whom this land belongs,” Subhash remarked.

Questioning the intent behind Owaisi’s statement, Subhash wondered if it arose from ignorance of India’s non-expansionist foreign policy or “inherited political malice.”

He emphasised that India prioritises restraint, responsibility, and international law, adding that neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor the armed forces need advice from someone with a “Razakar-like mindset.”

Subhash highlighted India’s measured responses to terrorism, including diplomatic isolation, surgical strikes and global pressure.

He criticised Owaisi, a law graduate from abroad, for disregarding international norms, the UN Charter, and national sovereignty.

Urging Owaisi to submit a formal parliamentary proposal instead of raising conflict and public rhetoric, Subhash said AIMIM’s style relies on controversy rather than responsible discourse, a tactic long recognised by Telangana people.
