Owaisi Seeks Centre’s Clarification on China Border

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi demanded a detailed report and a special Parliament session after the ITBP chief confirmed continuing face-offs along the Arunachal Pradesh border.

AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday demanded a “complete clarification” from the Centre after ITBP director general Shatrujeet Kapur confirmed that face‑offs between Indian and Chinese troops were continuing at several locations along the Arunachal Pradesh border.

Calling the confirmation “extremely concerning,” Owaisi accused the Narendra Modi government of keeping the country “in the dark” about the situation. He asked for details on the number of places where Chinese troops had allegedly intruded, stopped Indian patrols and citizens, and refused to withdraw, and sought clarity on how long the situation had persisted.

He questioned the government’s “friendly approach” towards China, asking, “Is the Narendra Modi government even capable of defending and securing Indian territory?”

The Hyderabad MP alleged a pattern of cover‑up, citing the absence of meaningful discussion in Parliament, restrictions on questions, and the Prime Minister’s refusal to hold press conferences. He referred to the PM’s June 2020 remarks after the Galwan clash, claiming they suggested no Chinese presence on Indian territory, which he said was “obviously not true or factual.”

Owaisi demanded a comprehensive, independent report on the border situation to be placed before the country, and called for a special session of Parliament to discuss the issue and the government’s China policy. “The least that this country deserves is the truth, honesty and political accountability when it comes to such core issues that affect the territorial integrity of India,” he said.
