Over 2,000 devotees join Yadagirigutta Giri Pradakshina
Yadadri-Bhongir: Thousands of devotees on Friday attended the Giri Pradakshina at Yadagirigutta Sri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple on the auspicious swathi nakshtram, considered the birth star of the lord.
As swathi nakshtram coincides with Kartheeka masam once in a year, at least 2,000 devotees reached vaikunta dwaram in early hours to participate in the Giri Pradakshina.
Executive officer of the temple, A. Bhaskara Rao, formally launched the ritual at 5.45 am down the hill shrine by performing a pooja.
Devotees including women participated in the four-kilometer long Giri Pradakshina with bare feet, not caring for the chilling weather. “Namo Narasimhaya” chants filled the air around the shrine.
