Outrage After Shivaji Statue Vandalised in Bandhanpalli
The incident triggered tension in the area, with calls for swift police action against those responsible, alleging an attempt to disturb communal harmony.

Warangal: Local residents and political leaders expressed shock and outrage after a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was allegedly set on fire by unidentified persons at Bandhanpalli village in Raoiparthi mandal of Warangal district on Wednesday.
The incident triggered tension in the area, with calls for swift police action against those responsible, alleging an attempt to disturb communal harmony.
On learning about the incident, BJP state leader Errabelli Pradeep Rao and former district BJP president Rao Padma Reddy visited the village and inspected the damaged statue. Speaking to the media, Pradeep Rao said Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj symbolised bravery and stood as a protector of Hindu Dharma.
He described the act as heinous and said it was not merely an attack on a statue but an assault on the sentiments of millions of people. He alleged that the incident was a deliberate attempt to create unrest in an otherwise peaceful village.
Demanding strict action, he said the culprits must be identified and arrested within 24 hours, and cases should be booked under stringent legal provisions to act as a deterrent. He also called for enhanced protection of such monuments to prevent future acts of desecration.
Following a complaint lodged by BJP leaders and villagers, police registered a case and launched an investigation.
