OU Students Plan Protest Against SIR
The protest aims to the risk of eligible voters being excluded and the need for transparency and accountability in the electoral revision process.

Hyderabad: Students, research scholars, student organisations and members of the academic community of Osmania University said they would organise a protest on Monday, October 12, at Arts College, Osmania University, against concerns over the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and its implications for the right to vote.
The protest aims to the risk of eligible voters being excluded and the need for transparency and accountability in the electoral revision process. In continuation of these efforts, SFI scheduled a state-level conference on October 30, on the theme “Constitutional Right to Vote and SIR: Safeguarding the Indian Constitution,” to deliberate on electoral reforms and the protection of voting rights.
Manchala Kiran Kumar, vice-president of the SFI Osmania University Unit, said awareness of contemporary social and democratic issues is essential for responsible citizenship and called upon students and research scholars to unite in safeguarding democratic values and contributing to building a better nation.
