HYDERABAD: A first‑year Osmania University student from South Sudan has been selected to participate in the Youth Empowerment Forum (YEF) 2026, an international leadership programme to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from September 3 to 6.
Paul Kuot Garang Manguak, who is pursuing a B.A. (Economics, Political Science and Public Administration) at the University Post Graduate College, Secunderabad, was selected under the partially funded delegate category for the forum organised by the Centre for Global Dialogue and Leadership (CGDL), Canada.
The forum brings together students, young professionals, entrepreneurs and emerging leaders from more than 150 countries to discuss leadership, public policy, innovation and international collaboration.
Under the partially funded category, Manguak will receive accommodation, meals during the event, airport transfers, access to conference sessions, institutional visits, leadership certification and networking opportunities. Delegates will also be eligible to compete for a US$ 1,000 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Action Grant.
The Office of International Affairs (OIA) at Osmania University issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) allowing him to travel to Switzerland and return to continue his studies after verifying his academic records and student status.
Prof. B. Vijaya, director of the office of international affairs, congratulated Manguak and wished him success in representing both Osmania University and South Sudan at the international forum.
