OU Launches Summer Internships In Emerging Tech
The internships are being conducted in areas including additive manufacturing, AI and machine learning, generative AI, large language models, power electronics, smart grid technologies, VLSI design, internet of things, embedded systems, mobile and web application development, robotics and AI research.

Hyderabad: Industry-focused training in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, VLSI and other emerging technologies began at University College of Engineering (Autonomous), Osmania University, with the launch of Summer Internships here on Monday. The programme, organised under the government’s 99-day ‘Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika’ initiative, aims to promote industry oriented skills, innovation and experiential learning among engineering students.
OU Vice Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram inaugurated the programme at the college assembly hall. Industry representatives S. Madhavi from IRA Origin Solutions Pvt. Ltd and Vishal Latha Balakumar from Dhruva Space Pvt. Ltd attended as guests of honour.
College principal P. Chandra Sekhar said the internships were designed to improve employability and provide students with exposure to emerging technologies, research methods and real world industrial applications through academia industry collaboration. University officials said each internship programme received more than 65 registrations, with students participating from institutions across the country, including National Institutes of Technology and Singapore University.
The internships are being conducted in areas including additive manufacturing, AI and machine learning, generative AI, large language models, power electronics, smart grid technologies, VLSI design, internet of things, embedded systems, mobile and web application development, robotics and AI research. The programme also included networking sessions, departmental interactions and release of an innovation brochure focused on entrepreneurship and innovation.
