OU Announces 648 PhD Seats for 2026 Test; Science & Engg Lead

Hyderabad:Osmania University announced 648 vacancies for its PhD Entrance Test-2026 under Category-II across 12 faculties, with the largest share of seats in science and engineering. There are 337 vacancies in science, followed by engineering with 119, arts with 61, social sciences with 35 and commerce with 26.
Management has 18 seats, technology 15, oriental languages and education 11 each, pharmacy seven, law six and informatics two.
Online registration and submission of applications for eligible candidates will begin on August 26. Applications can be submitted without a fine until September 25. Candidates will also have an opportunity to apply with a ₹2,000 late fee until October 1.
The entrance tests are tentatively scheduled for the second week of October. The university has advised candidates to check its official website and the OU admissions portal for the detailed schedule and further updates.
