Osmania University Building Division DEE Held in Bribe Case

Hyderabad: Rakonda Srinivasulu, a Deputy Executive Engineer (DEE) of Osmania University building division in the campus in Tarnaka, was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials in connection with a bribe case.
The ACB officials caught him in the office of the Executive Engineer, buildings division in the campus. He demanded the bribe of Rs.11,000 and accepted part payment of Rs.6,000 from the complainant for doing an official favour.
The bribe was demanded for releasing bills amounting to Rs.7.37 lakh towards renovation works executed by the complainant at Maneru Boys Hostel in Osmania University campus, and for not causing any obstacles in future contract works in the campus.
Earlier, he accepted an initial bribe amount of Rs.5,000 through PhonePe. The bribe amount of Rs.6,000 was recovered from the possession of the arrested officer. The ACB officials produced the officer before the special court for ACB cases in Nampally after which the court remanded him to judicial custody. The details of the complainant are withheld for security reasons.
