Osmania JUDA Resumes Agitation Over Unresolved Issues Affecting Patient Care

HYDERABAD: Telangana Junior Doctors Association (T-JUDA) members at the Osmania General Hospital resumed its agitation on Tuesday over persistent deficiencies in infrastructure, essential medical facilities, and critical healthcare resources across Osmania Medical College and its affiliated hospitals.

These deficiencies were causing significant difficulties in patient care and adversely affecting the clinical learning, academic training, and working conditions of resident doctors, the association said.

The association said that during the first phase of agitation on October 12 and 13, the government had assured the junior doctors that efforts would be made to address their concerns and that a resolution would be pursued within 10 days. It was also communicated that the doctors could continue their agitation if the issues remained unresolved.

“Respecting the government’s assurance and demonstrating our commitment to a constructive and democratic approach, Osmania T-JUDA waited for 14 days, allowing additional time for meaningful improvements,” a junior doctor said.

Despite the suspension of the stir for 10 days, the ground situation remained largely unchanged, and the major deficiencies affecting patient services and residents’ academic and clinical training across Osmania Medical College and its affiliated hospitals continued to persist.

In view of the lack of visible progress, Osmania T-JUDA has been compelled to resume its agitation today to ensure that these long-pending issues receive the urgent attention they deserve.

“Our agitation is not intended to inconvenience patients or create confrontation with the authorities. Rather, it is a collective effort to highlight the serious deficiencies that affect the delivery of quality healthcare and the training environment of future specialists,” the association said. “Adequate infrastructure, essential medical equipment, medicines, and other necessary resources are fundamental to effective patient care and proper medical education.”
