Orange Alert for 10 Telangana Districts; IMD Warns of Rain, Thunderstorms
IMD also issued yellow alert for 15 districts including Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgri and Ranga Reddy districts
Hyderabad: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for 10 districts in Telangana informing that moderate rain with thunderstorm likely to occur on Friday. The 10 districts include Bhadradri Kothagudem, Hanamkonda, Jangoan, Karimnagar, Mahbubabad, Mulugu, Nalgonda, Suryapet and Warangal.
It also issued yellow alert for 15 districts including Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgri and Ranga Reddy districts informing that light rains accompanied by thunderstorms with maximum surface wind speed less than 40 kmph is likley to occur.
Officials asked the people to be alert in view of the rain forecast and venture out only if there is any emergency situation. The devotees taking part in the immersion of Ganesh idols were also asked to be alert.
