Opposition Resorting to Mudslinging Against CM: Sama Rammohan

Over rejection of Natarajan’s nomination, Ram Mohan Reddy described this as merely a drama orchestrated by the BJP in collusion with the Election Commission.

Hyderabad: Strongly condemning the rejection of Rajya Sabha nomination of AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan by returning officer in Madhya Pradesh, the PCC media committee chairman, Sama Rammohan Reddy accused the opposition parties of resorting to mudslinging against the CM A. Revanth Reddy to divert attention from the real issues.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, the Congress leader noted that conspiracies were being hatched to undermine Revanth Reddy’s leadership and his integrity. He said that the efforts of the Chief Minister elevated him as a key figure for development, particularly across South India and was even recognised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.

Over rejection of Natarajan’s nomination, he described this as merely a drama orchestrated by the BJP in collusion with the Election Commission. He questioned the authority of the returning officer in rejecting her nomination.

“There are no criminal cases against Meenakshi Natarajan in Telangana. How does the mere filing of a complaint amount to a criminal case? There is a distinction between a complaint and a criminal case. The Congress will approach the Supreme Court regarding this matter,” he added.
