Opposition Leaders Join Congress as Welfare Schemes Gain Momentum

Temple expansion respects devotee sentiment: MLA Aadi Srinivas

Karimnagar: Despite the financial difficulties faced by the state, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is steering the government effectively by introducing reforms and successfully implementing various welfare schemes, said Government chief whip and MLA Aadi Srinivas. He made the remarks while welcoming nearly 50 leaders from the BJP, BRS and BSP into the Congress at a public meeting held at Rudraram village in Vemulawada Urban mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas said Telangana is setting an example nationally by distributing fine rice to every eligible family, a feat unmatched by other states. He added that around 4,696 Indiramma houses had been sanctioned to families from flood-affected villages in the district.

Highlighting ongoing infrastructure development, the MLA said that multiple irrigation projects under the Vemulawada constituency were progressing swiftly. The right canal of the Malkapet Reservoir has already been completed and water is being supplied downstream. He assured that steps were underway to complete the left canal works to extend the water supply up to Nimmanapalli village.

Srinivas criticised the previous BRS government, stating that the development neglected during its ten-year rule is now moving forward at a rapid pace under the Congress. While the BRS left a surplus state in debt, the Congress government is working hard to overcome challenges and push forward with development, he averred.

Talking about the temple, the MLA said that development works at the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada are being undertaken without causing inconvenience to devotees. The government has already sanctioned `47 crore to the district collector's account for road expansion and temple development, with work being carried out under the guidance of the Sringeri Peetam.

To ensure uninterrupted darshan during the works, arrangements have been made at the Bhimeswara Swamy Temple. Regular rituals and services at the Rajanna temple will continue without disruption, he informed. The government is open to suggestions from devotees, priests and leaders of various political parties, keeping in mind the sentiments of the people, he added.
