Hyderabad: The Haj Committee of India introduced an online self-booking facility for Haj-2026 flight tickets. Pilgrims can now book through the Haj Committee website or Haj Suvidha App during a four-day window starting from Thursday.
According to Telangana Haj Committee, this was in continuation of the initiatives undertaken to enhance convenience, transparency and operational efficiency. For the online self-booking facility for flights, selected aspirants may login through Haj Committee of India website. The objective of this initiative is to provide pilgrims with a freedom of choice to book their flights directly.
As per the guidelines issued on January 28, pilgrims travelling under Johfa (Shia pilgrims), LWM (Ladies Without Mehram) and Rubath categories (with duly submitted Rubath certificates) shall not be eligible for this facility. Their flights shall be allotted by the Central Haj Committee only.
This facility is optional, intended to accommodate individual preferences, and shall be available only for four days beginning from Thursday. This year the Telangana Haj Committee is prepared to send a total of 10,000 pilgrims.
“Compared to the previous year where 9,644 pilgrims embarked from RGIA for Haj there is an increase this year. At least 10,000 pilgrims will be leaving from Hyderabad and we are making all the arrangements. While 8,500 pilgrims going through the Haj Committee are confirmed, around 3,000 are in the waiting list,” said Telangana Haj Committee chairman Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani.
The pilgrims who choose not to avail this facility or miss the limited self-booking window will be allotted flights by the Haj Committee of India from the available flights, without taking into account any preference of pilgrims regarding flight or travel date.
“No requests seeking preference of flight or travel date received through emails, letters or any other offline mode shall be entertained,” the Central Haj Committee circular reads.
