One-Way Trial Run Around KBR Park on Sunday For H-CITI Works
Traffic diversions have been put in place to ensure smoother vehicular movement

Hyderabad: The city traffic police will implement one-way traffic for two hours on Sunday on the roads around KBR Park to try to traffic regulation for the construction of new road infrastructure. The experimental one-way will be implemented for two hours between 11 am and 1 pm on Sunday.
This is to study the traffic movement and make necessary suggestions to the engineering team and GHMC and come up with a solution during the construction period of the new flyovers and other infrastrucure, said joint commissioner of police, traffic, Joel Davis.
The infrastructure is coming up under the Hyderabad City Innovative & Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) project and includes the construction of a steel flyover and underpass in the limits of Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills traffic police stations.
JCP Davis said said the exercise aimed to study traffic flow patterns and minimise congestion in one of the city’s busiest corridors. As part of the trial, all roads surrounding the KBR Park will be regulated under a one-way system during the specified hours. Traffic diversions have been put in place to ensure smoother vehicular movement.
Commuters travelling from NFCL towards Jubilee Hills, Road No. 36, Road No. 45, Sagar Society, and the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge were advised to take a diversion via NTR Bhavan, Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital, Agrasen Island and Omega Hospital to reach their destinations.
Those coming from Yousufguda and Srinagar Colony towards Jubilee Hills and Madhapur were advised to use Indiranagar Gadda Road (Road No. 5), proceed towards Venkatagiri Junction, and then take a u-Turn towards Road No. 10 via Diamond House further connecting to Road No. 36 and Road No. 45.
Traffic police have stated that no U-turns will be permitted on the designated routes during the trial period, and motorists must strictly adhere to lane discipline by driving on the left side to ensure smooth exits. Authorities urged commuters to follow on-ground police instructions, signage, and use navigation apps for real-time updates. They also encouraged the use of public transport and carpooling to reduce traffic congestion. Heavy vehicles have been advised to avoid the stretch during peak hours.
JCP Davis stated that the inconvenience caused is regretted, adding that the trial is essential to improve long-term traffic management and public safety amid rapid infrastructure development in the city.
