One Lakh Indiramma Flats in Hyderabad Cure Limits in 3 Phases: Ponguleti
Housing minister directs officials to fast-track land identification and ensure transparent beneficiary selection.

Hyderabad: The state government has set a target of constructing one lakh flats under the Indiramma Towers scheme in the Hyderabad Urban Region (CURE) limits in three phases, with priority given to building homes close to the existing locations of beneficiaries to ensure that their livelihoods are not affected, housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said on Friday.
The minister directed officials to identify land on a war footing for programme while ensuring protection of government lands. He asked collectors to complete the identification of sites required for the first phase in each Assembly constituency and prepare land in advance for the second and third phases.
Srinivas Reddy was speaking at a review meeting with collectors of Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts, revenue divisional officers and housing department officials. Revenue secretary D.S. Lokesh Kumar and housing secretary V.P. Gautam were among those present.
The minister said the government was moving ahead with the objective of constructing one lakh houses across CURE, with around 500 houses planned in each Assembly constituency in the first phase. The minister asked collectors to expedite identification of sites in the two or three constituencies where land was yet to be finalised for the first phase.
He asked officials to continuously monitor land availability, suitability of sites and other requirements and ensure that advance planning was undertaken for subsequent phases to implement the programme effectively.
Sriinvas Reddy also directed officials to complete the selection of beneficiaries for pending double-bedroom houses in Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts by October-end.
The minister said the Housing Corporation should use the software incorporating modern technology to conduct an online draw for selecting beneficiaries. The same procedure should be followed in all three districts, with details of eligible applicants entered into the software to ensure transparency and fairness. He instructed officials to make arrangements for live streaming of the draw. Beneficiaries who could not watch it live would be able to access the details on YouTube at any time and check whether their names figured in the selection list, he said.
