Olympic Spirit Should Reach Every Home: Vakiti Srihari

The Minister noted that the Olympic Day Run is conducted worldwide every year with the aim of instilling the Olympic spirit in every individual

Hyderabad: Minister for Sports and Youth Services Vakiti Srihari participated in the Olympic Day Run-2026 event organized under the auspices of the Telangana Olympic Association. The program, held at the LB Stadium in the city, was attended by Telangana Olympic Association President Jitender Reddy, SATS Chairman Shiva Sena Reddy, government advisor Venu Gopala Chari, and others.

On this occasion, speaking at the event, Minister Vakiti Srihari congratulated every athlete who brought the Olympic flame from all corners of the city. He noted that the Olympic Day Run is conducted worldwide every year with the aim of instilling the Olympic spirit in every individual.
The minister stated that the Olympic Day Run not only promotes interest in sports but also contributes to building a healthy society. He emphasized that only disciplined athletes can excel at national and international levels, and suggested that athletes should possess the same level of discipline as military personnel.
The minister informed that the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, has accorded unprecedented priority to sports over the past two and a half years and has successfully implemented several programs. He said the government is working towards the goal of Telangana athletes winning medals in the 2036 Olympics.
He mentioned that two editions of the CM Cup have been successfully conducted to uncover hidden sports talent in rural areas. Along with providing the necessary infrastructure for sports development, the government is committed to fostering the sports spirit among the youth, he added.
The minister called for further expanding the sports inspiration provided by Olympic Day for building a healthy society and a bright future for students.
