Officials Promote Crop Diversification to Tackle El Niño
He said the State government is supporting farmers who practise organic farming.

Adilabad:Agriculture officials are promoting alternative crops and crop diversification to mitigate the effects of El Niño in the erstwhile Adilabad district. The Agriculture Department is also organising seed melas.
Adilabad Collector Rajarshi Shah, MLA Vedma Bojju and farmers participated in the 100th episode of Rythu Nestam at the Rythu Vedika in the Utnoor mandal headquarters on Tuesday.
Collector Rajarshi Shah said the excessive use of urea and DAP has a negative impact on crops, while soil fertility can be improved through organic farming. He said the State government is supporting farmers who practise organic farming.
Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju stressed the need for rainwater conservation to mitigate the effects of El Niño and advocated crop diversification to help farmers avoid losses. He said everyone should strive to conserve groundwater to meet future needs, as prolonged dry spells and scanty rainfall are becoming more frequent.
