Officials Inspect KBR Park Flyover Electrical Network Shifting Works

Hyderabad: A high-level team of officials comprising Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V. Patil, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan and other officials conducted a field inspection on Wednesday to review the progress of the electrical network shifting works associated with the construction of the KBR Park Flyover, a key infrastructure project aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving mobility in Hyderabad.
The senior officers reviewed the ongoing electrical network shifting works being executed under the supervision of the master plan wing, assessed the progress achieved so far, examined inter-departmental coordination, and reviewed the measures being taken to ensure timely completion of the works with minimum inconvenience to the public.
During the inspection, the officers also visited the Road No. 45 Junction and Film Nagar Junction areas and discussed strategies for carrying out the utility shifting works without causing disruption to traffic movement. It was decided that the works would be implemented in a phased manner through close coordination among the Police, GHMC, Traffic Police, and TGSPDCL departments.
Officials informed that necessary steps are being taken to safely relocate existing electrical poles, overhead lines, cables, and other power infrastructure to facilitate the flyover construction works. All precautions are being taken to ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers during the execution of the shifting activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Patil stated that an action plan is being prepared to convert existing 11 kV and 33 kV overhead power lines into underground cable networks at several locations in line with the city’s future infrastructure and development requirements.
He noted that the initiative would enhance the reliability of power supply while also contributing to improved traffic management and urban beautification. The officials reiterated that all concerned departments are working in close coordination to complete the works expeditiously while ensuring public safety, uninterrupted power supply, and smooth traffic flow.
