Nurse Dies After Falling Under Train at Moulali

Hyderabad:A 20‑year‑old nurse died after accidentally falling under a moving train while deboarding at Moula Ali railway station on Sunday. The victim, Manepally Manasa of Jangaon district, was returning to her house in Moula Ali HB Colony with her father. She slipped while alighting from the Golconda Express and was hit by the Vande Bharat Express heading towards Visakhapatnam.
Railway police said Manasa had been working in a private hospital in the city for the past seven months. GRP Secunderabad registered a case of suspicious death and shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for post‑mortem. Her family collected the body in the evening and took it to her native place for last rites.
201 motorists booked for drunk driving
Hyderabad:Cyberabad traffic police booked 201 motorists during a weekend drunk‑driving enforcement drive, with 15 offenders recording blood alcohol concentration (BAC) levels between 301 and 550 mg/100 ml. Cases were registered against 174 two‑wheeler riders, nine three‑wheeler drivers, 17 car drivers and one heavy‑vehicle driver. Of the offenders, 170 recorded BAC levels between 36 and 200 mg/100 ml, 16 between 201 and 300 mg/100 ml, and 15 between 301 and 550 mg/100 ml.
Police said all offenders would be produced before court. They warned that those causing fatal accidents while driving in an inebriated condition would face charges under BNS Section 105, culpable homicide not amounting to murder, carrying a maximum punishment of 10 years’ imprisonment and fine. Between August 10 and 15, courts disposed of 276 drunk‑driving cases. Three offenders were awarded both fine and imprisonment, nine were fined and ordered to perform social service, while 264 were fined.
Three held with Mephentermine injections
Hyderabad:The Rajendranagar commissioner’s task force arrested three persons and seized 110 vials of mephentermine sulphate injections, a cardiac stimulant, and empty syringes worth ₹6 lakh. Acting on credible information, police arrested Mohammad Ajez at Nawab Saheb Kunta, Falaknuma, for illegally selling the injections. He revealed that he procured them from Mohd Saif Khan, who was acting on instructions of Mohammed Zuber alias Zubair.
Further enquiry showed Zuber procured the injections by placing online orders, which were delivered via third‑party couriers. He sold packs of 30 injections for ₹5,000 and each vial for around ₹1,000, earning substantial illegal profits. Additional DCP K.S. Rao urged citizens to report drug‑related information via Dial 112 or Hyderabad City Police helplines, assuring confidentiality.
