NRR Slams CM Over Fee Arrears, Foreign Tours

Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to address the plight of 40 lakh students, parents and staff facing hardship due to non-release of fee reimbursements and scholarship arrears of ₹15,000 crore, before “eulogising studies at Oxford and LSE.”

Speaking at the party office, where police denied permission for a Dharna Chowk protest, Rao ended his two-day Maha Nirahara Deeksha on doctors’ advice after a dip in blood pressure. He vowed protests would continue until dues were cleared. Thousands of students, unemployed youth and academics rallied in support, submitting a five-lakh-signature petition collected by BJYM.

Party leaders accused Revanth of betraying pre-election “Youth Declaration” promises, mocking his foreign tours as “tourist CM” antics. BJP Legislature Party leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy warned of “fierce” protests if arrears remained unpaid, citing severe staff shortages in colleges.

Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender urged the CM to “think like a parent” for Telangana’s four crore people. “Don’t play with the future of 40 lakh students. Release arrears immediately,” he said. Senior leaders including MPs K. Laxman, R. Krishnaiah, D. Arvind, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, D.K. Aruna and several MLAs joined the protest.
