NPDCL Launches Praja Bata Programme to Resolve Power Supply Issues

Reddy said that the main objective of the Praja Bata programme is for officials to directly reach out to the public, understand their issues, and ensure timely resolution

Hanamkonda: NPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Karnati Varun Reddy stated that “Praja Bata” is a programme aimed at directly visiting electricity consumers, understanding their power-related issues, and resolving them effectively.

The programme was formally inaugurated on Tuesday morning at Bhavani Nagar in Nakkalagutta Section in Hanamkonda Circle. On this occasion, Reddy personally toured the colony along with residents and directly enquired about the electricity-related problems being faced by them.

Later, addressing the gathering, Reddy said that the main objective of the Praja Bata programme is for officials to directly reach out to the public, understand their issues, and ensure timely resolution. He informed that the programme will be conducted three days a week (every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday).

He instructed that DEs, ADEs, and AEs in all circles should independently conduct field-level visits along with staff and directly inspect villages. Villages should be scheduled feeder-wise under 11 kV feeders, and the programme schedule should be posted in the respective circle WhatsApp groups one day in advance.

He also directed that adequate publicity should be given through WhatsApp groups so that consumers in the concerned areas are informed in advance.

He further instructed officials to identify and rectify faults in 11 kV lines, DTR structures, and LT lines on the spot. In cases where immediate rectification is not possible, arrangements should be made to resolve the issues on a later scheduled date.

Regular field inspections should be conducted for frequently tripping feeders. Necessary maintenance works such as load balancing, feeder bifurcation, replacement of damaged insulators, rectification of defective jumpers, correction of leaning poles, cross-arm rectification, and identification and rectification of low-level road crossings should be taken up.

To avoid unnecessary load curtailments, control AB switches should be installed. He also directed installation of capacitors on lines, re-stringing of loose LT lines, and provision of spacers wherever required.

If DTRs are found to be overloaded, capacity enhancement should be undertaken along with strengthening of LT lines, proper earthing, and rectification of leaning poles. He emphasized that every employee should work with commitment and dedication to enhance consumer confidence and reliability.
