Notification for 3038 RTC Jobs Soon: Minister Ponnam

Hyderabad: Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has announced that a notification to fill 3,038 vacancies in the Road Transport Corporation (RTC) will be released soon.

The vacancies include positions such as Drivers, Shramiks, Deputy Superintendent (Traffic), Deputy Superintendent (Mechanical), Depot Manager/Assistant Traffic Manager, Assistant Mechanical Engineer, Assistant Engineer (Civil), Accounts Officers, Medical Officers (General), and Medical Officers (Specialist).

According to a release from the minister's office, the government has granted permission to fill the vacant posts, and the notification will be issued shortly. The recruitment process will be carried out at the earliest.

The minister also highlighted that the number of women passengers has significantly increased due to the implementation of the Mahalaxmi free travel scheme in RTC buses, part of the people-centric governance under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

So far, 165 crore women have availed themselves of the free travel scheme, resulting in savings of ₹5,500 crore, the minister added.

•Shramik (workers) – 743

•Deputy Superintendent (Traffic) – 84

•Deputy Superintendent (Mechanical) – 114

•Depot Manager/Assistant Traffic Manager – 25

•Assistant Mechanical Engineer – 18

•Assistant Engineer (Civil) – 23

•Section Officer (Civil) – 11

•Accounts Officers – 6

•Medical Officers (General) – 7

•Medical Officers (Specialist) – 7
