Not NDSA, but a NDA Report on KLIS: KTR

BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao questioned the timing of the NDSA report on Kaleshwaram barrages, alleging it was politically motivated and delayed to coincide with the party's silver jubilee celebrations

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Friday chose to question the timing of the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) report on the Kaleshwaram project barrages, and dubbed it a “NDA report”. He said the NDSA had the report ready in December 2024 and asked why it took so long to send it to the state government.

During an informal chat with reporters, he said the delay in finalising the report and sending it to the state government indicated that it was a politically motivated report.

He said the timing of the release, just days before the BRS is to hold its silver jubilee celebrations on April 27, smacked of an attempt to launch a new smear campaign on the party.

The NDSA rushed to inspect Medigadda “after one pier had some cracks,” Rama Rao claimed and asked, “Where was it, or any other Central agency, when the retaining wall in Sunkishala pump house collapsed, or the accident at SLBC tunnel, or when Peddavagu breached?”

He alleged the report was the “result of blind hatred of the BJP at the Centre and Congress in the state towards the BRS.” Questioning why there were no reports on the collapse of Morbi bridge in Gujarat that killed around 140 people or when bridges kept collapsing in Bihar, Rama Rao claimed, “This is a cooked up report by the BJP.”
