No Untoward Incident During 12-Day Ganesha Festivities, Says Sajjanar

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar on Friday said that the Ganesha idol immersion process in the city was proceeding peacefully and arrangements had been made to complete it by Saturday morning.
Speaking to media persons from the Command Control Room along with Officer of Special Duty to Intelligence Security Wing V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, the Hyderabad police chief said special measures were taken for the immersion of the Khairatabad Bada Ganesh. He said the immersion procession was slightly delayed due to a delay in the Ganapati puja at Saidabad.
By 7.30 am on Friday, Ganesha idols had been moved from the Golconda and Rajendra Nagar areas. Sajjanar said no untoward incidents were reported anywhere between September 14 and 25. Idols were also moved promptly from areas including Chatrinaka.
He said some Ganesha idols from Malkajgiri were shifted to Tank Bund due to lack of water in Kapra Lake. Measures were being taken to ensure that no crane remained idle, while additional cranes were deployed at Tank Bund.
Kamalasan Reddy said the Hyderabad immersion procession was being monitored using 12 drone cameras. CCTV cameras across all commissionerates were linked to the Command Control Room. He said technology was being used for monitoring and directed officials to promptly resolve complaints received through the 112 toll-free number.
