No Charges for Staying at Airport’s Forecourt for 8 Minutes, Says RGIA

“As a part of this, a grace period of up to eight minutes is provided for pick-up and drop-off, post which nominal charges are applied. This helps minimise delays and ensure timely access for passengers, especially during peak hours. The system is automated to ensure transparency and ease for all users.”

Hyderabad: The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Thursday said that drivers are allowed to be at the terminal’s forecourt for eight minutes for pick-up and drop-off of passengers.

Responding to a report in these columns, ‘RGIA ramp policy, overstay charges trigger drivers' ire’, an RGIA official said that “the terminal forecourt is a high-security zone, and like most major airports across the country, we follow a policy to streamline vehicle movement and prevent congestion.”

“As a part of this, a grace period of up to eight minutes is provided for pick-up and drop-off, post which nominal charges are applied. This helps minimise delays and ensure timely access for passengers, especially during peak hours. The system is automated to ensure transparency and ease for all users.”
