Nizamabad: Survey Reveals Temple Lands Encroached By Pvt, Govt Officials
Endowment department with the cooperation of land and survey department, revenue and police department conducted three days survey in Sadashivanagar mandal in Kamareddy district from April 15-17.

NIZAMABAD/KAMAREDDY: Survey conducted by the endowment department revealed not only private persons and government departments also illegally encroached valuable Sri Vishveshwer Swamy temple lands in Sadashivanagar mandal in Kamareddy district. Few persons cultivating agriculture crops in the temple lands and private persons constructed pucca houses. Shockingly, mandal offices and police station built in temple lands without any valid permissions.
Endowment department with the cooperation of land and survey department, revenue and police department conducted three days survey in Sadashivanagar mandal in Kamareddy district from April 15-17. Following the directives of endowment Warangal zone joint commissioner Sandhya Rani, Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts assistant commissioner V.Vijayarama Rao along around 30 staff members conducted the survey in 536.38 acres.
In scorching summer, the survey teams visited Dharmaraopet, Markal villages outskirts, found the Sri Vishveshwer Swamy’s temple lands. Few lands found barren and others cultivated by agriculture families. Kamareddy district collector Ashish Sangwan became instrumental in taking up survey on temple lands in the district. Few farmers told the survey teams that their families cultivating crops in the lands for decades. “We don’t know these lands belongs to Sri Vishveshwer Swamy temple”, they said. Farmers agreed to pay lease amount to the endowment department for cultivation in temple lands.
Sri Vishveshwer and Kala Bhairava temple executive officers V.Sridhar Rao, B.Prabhu explained the temple land rights and endowment department stand on lands. They suggested farmers and others to cooperate with them in safe guarding of temple lands. After getting survey reports, officials will set up boards in Sri Vishveshwer Swamy temple lands in Sadashivanagar mandal, which is become pilot project in Kamareddy and Nizamabad districts.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, endowment department assistant commissioner V.Vijayarama Rao said that they will conduct a meeting on Sri Vishveshwer Swamy temple lands soon. People cooperated with survey teams and encroachers are also ready to pay lease amount to the endowment department for temple lands, he explained. No one ready to claim temple land as themselves, assistant commissioner said.
