NIUM Campus To Come Up in Future City, CM Revanth To Lay Foundation

The government has envisaged an action plan to showcase Telangana, highlighting Hyderabad to the world as the best destination for global investments in the summit.

Hyderabad: The government is set to establish the prestigious National Institute of Urban Management (NIUM) — an urban development research organisation in Bharat Future City. The state-of-the-art campus will be constructed over 20 acres at a cost of Rs 200 crore to facilitate urban development research, policy formulation to address urban sector challenges, and training for officials.

The government has issued orders allocating land for the NIUM at Kurmidda in Yacharam mandal. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will lay the foundation stone for the campus soon.

The NIUM will focus on modernising urban administration, strengthening municipal systems, conducting studies on infrastructure, and providing training to officials. The institute will also formulate plans for various development projects and create master plans for several municipalities.

The role of NIUM is crucial for the development of the three regions of the state — CURE , PURE and RARE —under the 'Telangana Rising Vision' -2047. The campus will primarily serve as a hub for offering training courses to municipal officials and other stakeholders.

With two months left for the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026, scheduled for December 7–9 at Bharat Future City, Revanth Reddy will inspect the Young India Skills University campus and review the summit arrangements with officials for the successful conduct of the summit.

The government has envisaged an action plan to showcase Telangana, highlighting Hyderabad to the world as the best destination for global investments in the summit.

The main objective of the summit is to accelerate growth through CURE-PURE-RARE framework, Telangana already being a leader in the pharma, IT, and defence and aerospace sectors. The government will also unveil new policies along with highlighting key initiatives, including the Future City master plan, Telangana's industrial policy, and sector-specific policies.

Invitations have been extended to prominent celebrities, CEOs of major corporate entities, international dignitaries, and business leaders. Notably, the site originally earmarked for the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 has recently been allocated for the construction of an Amazon data centre. Consequently, it has been decided to host this year's global summit at the Young India Skills University campus within Future City.
