Nita Ambani to Host Indian Weekend on Global Stage

Nita Ambani’s grand Lincoln Center announcement to star-studded panels and global participation, the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit celebrates India's creative future.

Hyderabad: “This September, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre will proudly present a grand Indian Weekend at the iconic Lincoln Centre in New York”, said Nita Ambani.

Speaking at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, she said that India had a strong history of wisdom and stated that the voices will rise again.

The second day of the summit attracted thousands of visitors, creators, students, business leaders, film stars and investors, along with presenting awards to the winners of Create in India Challenge.

Several film actors participated in panel discussions, keynote speeches and workshops. actor Farhan Akthar did a master workshop on acting for young aspiring actors, and spoke about the different nuances of being in front of a camera.

Actors Nagarjuna, Karthi, Khushboo and Anupam Kher, in a panel discussion, conversed about Pan-India films. Nagarjuna said “Indians love to look at larger-than-life heroes. That is why they love characters like Pushparaj, Rocky and Bahubali. They want to see magic on the big screen.”

Khushboo said: “Along with loving the larger-than-life characters, audiences also want to see their heroes being caring about their families and having love and affection towards his or her family. That connects with the audience.”

Not only films and media, but WAVES also held discussions about the combination of technology and sports. Former Indian cricketer and coach Ravi Shastri, along with tech giants discussed in length about “The real STEM - Sports, Technology, Entrepreneurship and Media”.

Speaking with Deccan Chronicle, Unmesh Dinda, a popular Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom coach on YouTube known as PiXimperfect, said “It is great to be here and see the enthusiasm of hundreds of people.”

“I was a member of a panel, where we discussed the AI-powered creator economy. The entire room was full of energy, and it is unlike anything I’ve seen before”, he said.

Sanjay Jaju, secretary to the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, stated that creators, investors and enthusiasts from more than 95 countries have attended WAVES. He further said that they had 95 buyers and 224 sellers just on the first day at the WAVES Bazaar. He said that a lot of business-to-business deals along with creators and buyer deals, have happened in two days

Union I&B minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with actors Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, Vikrant Massey etc., presented awards to the winners of 32 competitions of Create in India Challenge (CIC). More than 1100 people have participated in CIC from more than 60 countries.

The third day of the summit will host leaders like Odisha’s Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union minister of state for youth affairs and sports Raksha Khadse, and creators, film stars, entrepreneurs and like Anupam Mittal, Anil Kapoor, Dolly Singh, Ekta Kapoor and several others.
