Hyderabad: The Nirmal police on Thursday rescued three family members from Nizamabad who tried to end their lives at Godavari River and counseled them before handing them over to their relatives.
Komati Ganga Prasad, a resident of Nizamabad Town, came to Godavari River at Basara, along with his two daughters Vaishalai (6) and Ranavitha (4) to end their lives. On seeing them, two police constables, who were patrolling near the bridge, rescued them and brought them to the police station.
The police officials counseled Prasad and handed him and his children to the relatives. During counseling, Prasad broke down before the police stating that he wanted to take the drastic step due to family problems. The police officials advised him not to lose confidence and tried to solve problems in consultation with their elders.( Source : Deccan Chronicle )
