Nims To Launch 3 Specialised Urology Clinics From Jan. 1
Nims will start three sub-speciality clinics in its urology and renal transplantation department, namely, uro-oncology, renal transplantation and paediatric urology, to handle complex cases that currently get spread across general outpatient services.

Hyderabad: Patients seeking treatment for urological cancers, kidney transplantation and children’s urology problems will have dedicated clinics to approach at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (Nims) from January 1.
Nims will start three sub-speciality clinics in its urology and renal transplantation department, namely, uro-oncology, renal transplantation and paediatric urology, to handle complex cases that currently get spread across general outpatient services.
Nims director Nagari Beerappa said the clinics are aimed at making specialised care accessible for patients. “Advanced treatment for urological cancers, kidney transplantation and paediatric urology problems will be available through these clinics, helping people receive focused and quality care,” he said.
The clinics will function under the urology department headed by Rahul Devar. They will be held every Friday from 10 am to 1 pm at the urology department located on the sixth floor of the specialty block.
Hospital officials said this would help patients who require repeated consultations and long-term follow-up, particularly those undergoing cancer treatment or kidney transplantation. The paediatric urology clinic is expected to help families avoid multiple referrals by providing specialized care for children with urinary and related conditions. Officials said bringing these services under clearly defined clinics would also help doctors manage patient load better and reduce waiting time for those needing specialised attention.
