Nims Parking To Be Restricted for Three Months As GHMC Takes Up Road Works

Nims said parking availability would be severely affected during the construction period and asked visitors to plan their journeys accordingly.

Hyderabad: Parking facilities at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (Nims) will be severely restricted for the next three months as the GHMC takes up cement concrete (CC) road construction at several locations within the hospital premises.

In a press note issued on Tuesday, the Nims administration advised patients, attendants and visitors to use public transport wherever possible and avoid bringing private vehicles unless necessary.

The construction work will be carried out in phases at several locations, including the Punjagutta entry and exit gates, Millennium and Physiotherapy Blocks, Dialysis Waiting Area, Wellness Centre and NPR Block.

Other locations included staff parking near Union Bank, the road leading to the nursing hostel, doctors’ parking in front of the Doctors’ Club, the route to the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) and general stores, the portico and the common parking area.

Nims said parking availability would be severely affected during the construction period and asked visitors to plan their journeys accordingly.

The advisory aims to reduce traffic congestion within the hospital premises and ensure uninterrupted access for ambulances and other emergency services. The press note did not specify a date for completion of the works or indicate whether all parking areas would remain unavailable throughout the three-month period.
