NIMS Launches Hand Rehabilitation Clinic, Gets CSR Support
The clinic was inaugurated by Nims Director Prof. N. Beerappa along with Telangana Forest Development Corporation chairman Podem Veeraiah.

Hyderabad: The Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (Nims) on Saturday launched a Hand Rehabilitation Clinic established jointly by its Departments of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Physiotherapy.
The clinic was inaugurated by Nims Director Prof. N. Beerappa along with Telangana Forest Development Corporation chairman Podem Veeraiah.
According to hospital officials, the facility will provide treatment and rehabilitation services for patients with hand injuries, nerve damage, tendon injuries, burns, congenital deformities and loss of hand function following surgery.
Plastic surgeons, physiotherapists and hand therapists will work together to help patients regain functionality and return to their daily activities.
The clinic was set up with financial assistance provided by Podem Veeraiah under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. He also donated two electric vehicles for transporting patients and their attendants within the hospital premises.
A total of ₹33 lakh was provided to NIMS, including ₹5 lakh for equipment for the clinic and ₹28 lakh for the two electric vehicles.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Beerappa thanked the Telangana Forest Development Corporation for its support and said NIMS continues to introduce new facilities to expand patient care services. He said the clinic would serve as a dedicated centre for hand rehabilitation services in the state.
