NIMS Faculty Body Condemns Graft, Seeks Fair Probe
Matters under inquiry should not be portrayed as established facts: Nims Faculty Association (Nimsfa)

HYDERABAD: The Nims Faculty Association (NIMSFA) has condemned alleged corruption and financial irregularities at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) and demanded a transparent inquiry, while opposing attempts to generalise allegations against the entire faculty.
In a statement, Nimsfa expressed concern over recent reports in newspapers, television and digital media, saying unverified allegations and speculation were being presented as facts without proper evidence or official confirmation.
It said charges against specific individuals should be investigated individually and on the basis of evidence, instead of holding the entire faculty responsible. Matters under inquiry should not be portrayed as established facts without due process, it added.
Nimsfa said the institution had built its reputation over decades through faculty contributions in medical education, research, patient care and advanced healthcare. It highlighted services rendered by doctors and professionals, particularly to patients from economically weaker sections.
The association said it unequivocally condemned corruption, irregularities and misconduct, and demanded strict action against those found guilty under law. At the same time, it said unverified information and rumours should not be used to damage the institution’s reputation or the professional dignity of its faculty.
