Newborn Baby Girl Rescued From Bus Station Washroom in Rajanna Sircilla

Passerby heard cries; police and child welfare officials rushed the infant to hospital

Karimnagar: A newborn baby girl was rescued from a washroom at the new bus stand in Rajanna Sircilla district headquarters late on Thursday.

The infant was found after a passerby heard cries from the washroom and alerted commuters, who informed the police and district authorities. The police and district child welfare department officials rushed to the spot and shifted the baby to Sircilla Government Hospital, where she was admitted to the neonatal ward.

Doctors said the infant’s condition is stable and she is under observation, with further tests being conducted to rule out complications from exposure.

Police registered a case and began scanning CCTV footage from the bus station and nearby areas to identify those responsible for abandoning the child. The child welfare officials said the baby would be moved to a state-run home after discharge from hospital.
