New PHC Opened In Kathalapur To Strengthen Rural Healthcare

KARIMNAGAR: In a move to improve healthcare access in rural areas, a newly constructed Primary Health Centre (PHC) was inaugurated at Ambaripeta village in Kathalapur mandal of Jagtial district on Saturday.

Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas, along with district collector B. Satyaprasad, inaugurated the facility.

Speaking on the occasion, Aadi Srinivas said the state government, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, was committed to public welfare through various Praja Palana initiatives. He said the PHC was part of efforts to expand medical infrastructure in rural areas and ensure quality healthcare reached every citizen.

The MLA said the new centre would provide outpatient consultations, maternity care, immunisations and emergency first aid. He urged medical staff to serve patients with empathy and asked officials to ensure doctors were available round the clock for emergencies. He also suggested that the PHC should create awareness on nutrition and hygiene among villagers.

collector Satyaprasad said the PHC would benefit pregnant women, lactating mothers, children and the elderly in Ambaripeta and surrounding hamlets. He directed the health department to maintain adequate stocks of essential medicines and ensure sufficient staffing for uninterrupted services.

Villagers welcomed the new facility, saying they had earlier travelled long distances even for basic treatment.

Korutla RDO Jivakar Reddy, district medical and health officer Sujatha, deputy DMHO Jaipal Reddy, Tahsildar Ramesh, MPDO Shankar, village sarpanch Vemula Lakshmi, ASHA workers and other officials attended the programme.
