New Clouds Form Over Parts of Hyderabad
Humidity levels across the city remained high, with most areas recording over 90 per cent

Hyderabad: After a day of heavy downpours, traffic chaos, and widespread waterlogging, Hyderabad remained mostly dry for several hours on Tuesday before new storms began forming across several parts of the city, especially in the west.
While some areas recorded fresh showers, large parts of the city remained dry through much of the afternoon before another round of storms began developing in the evening.
Fresh cumulonimbus clouds formed around Shamshabad and Balapur by evening, gradually moving towards Rajendranagar, Bandlaguda, and Golconda.
Forecasts issued earlier in the day had already indicated a return of storms to South and West Telangana, with Hyderabad expected to receive scattered rain between the afternoon and the following morning. Areas in North and West Hyderabad, including Kukatpally, Hafeezpet, and Chandanagar, experienced short spells earlier in the day, but these faded quickly.
Around 3.30 pm, a strong storm cell moved through Cyberabad, covering Gachibowli, Raidurg, Madhapur, and Kondapur, but it was brief. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) later noted a 3-4 hour dry window for the city.
Later in the evening, new storm activity was expected across Tolichowki, Mehdipatnam, Narsingi, and Banjara Hills. However, the intensity remained lower compared to Monday’s spells. By 8 pm, storm cells had moved westward into Ameenpur and Isnapur, and were expected to continue towards Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, and parts of Nizamabad. Intense activity was also forecast across Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool, Suryapet, and Rangareddy.
Humidity levels across the city remained high, with most areas recording over 90 per cent. Minimum temperatures hovered between 22°C and 26°C, and wind speeds remained light.
As of Tuesday night, authorities had not reported any serious disruptions. Municipal bodies remained on alert, following IMD recommendations. According to the seven-day forecast, intermittent rain and thunderstorms are likely to continue across many districts of Telangana until at least August 9, accompanied by gusty winds and occasional lightning.
