New 27-km Forest Power Line to Transform Energy Supply in Mulugu District

He further inspected the new section office in the Pasra section, which he said should be operational by the end of this month.

Warangal:In a significant move that will modernise the regional energy infrastructure, Telangana Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGNPDCL) is on the threshold of completing the 27-kilometer 33KV power line connecting the Karlapalli substation to the newly constructed Lingala sub-station, forming the backbone of the electricity grid in Mulugu district.

Significantly, the power line traverses through a dense forest terrain. TGNPDCL chairman and managing director (CMD) Karnati Varun Reddy conducted a field inspection of the power line on Tuesday. He assured that the completion of the power line through the forest will stabilise power supply to remote areas that have historically faced logistical hurdles.

Beyond the new transmission line, Varun Reddy spoke about the operational efficiency of the department during his visit to the district. He inspected the ongoing construction of the department’s Special Purpose Machine (SPM) shed. He directed that all pending works must be accelerated and the facility made fully operational by the end of June.

The CMD visited a private SPM shed to audit the maintenance of failed transformers. He instructed officials to increase their rolling stock to ensure that faulty units are replaced without delay. He further inspected the new section office in the Pasra section, which he said should be operational by the end of this month.

Varun Reddy asserted that these upgrades would drastically improve power quality and eliminate persistent low-voltage issues in villages, such as Gundala, Kodishela, and Lingala. He maintained that their priority is to provide high-quality, uninterrupted power to tribal and rural areas. He made it clear that timely completion of these projects is non-negotiable for improving consumer services.

Those who accompanied the CMD included chief engineer Raju Chauhan, Mulugu superintendent engineer Bethi Bhikhsapati and several divisional engineers from the operations, civil and MRT wings.
